Conrad Praetzel – Paleo Music 1987-1998

Conrad Praetzel – Paleo Music 1987-1998  (ORB  16)

The album offers the best of the production of Conrad Praetzel over a period of twelve years, in which the author has released four experimental albums of ambient world beat, folktronica genres. Orbeatize bestseller in Japan, there are references to Kate Bush, The Cocteau Twins, Marta Sebesteyen, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, always under the shadow of Brian Eno. All with an electronic beat cooked by a remarkable instrumentation: Yamaha TX7 and Roland and E-mu Systems equipment on all, several analogue guitars and not and many other surprises. Why Paleo Music? “When I conceived many of these tracks I was working as an archaeologist between California and Nevada. The work and lifestyle were an inspiration for the music I recorded as soon as I could. The album cover shows twelve Native American petroglyphs, one of which also became the logo for my project.”

Album, Jolly Mare, Logica Natura, BEAT 02, dj, electronic, experimental produced by Orbratize records
Jolly Mare – Logica Natura

Jolly Mare – Logica Natura (BEAT  02)

“In November 2017, a dear friend called to tell me he had found a rare Japanese drum machine. I fell in love with it: it was capable of producing extravagant and eerie sounds when triggered by any sound source. It took only three days of jamming to get the skeleton of this record: I programmed the module to receive Alex Semprevivo’s drum hits and the device started creating synth lines, almost as if it spoke its own language. No root keys, no grids, no clicks, everything came out instinctively and naturally.” We are not aware that the drum used in the craziest and freest album by Fabrizio Martina aka Jolly Mare, has ever been used in this way. Unmissable.
