Ricky Starbuster

Protosyn

The multifaceted Rick Hauser aka “Ricky Starbuster”, “Debut of the Year” in 1983 for Electronic Musician Magazine, tells Protosyn this way: “This was my first cassette album right after I bought my Prophet 5, and it’s probably the most cosmic of all my releases. Most of the sound combinations were custom patches I created with the knobs and buttons on the P5. Recorded with a TEAC A-3340 and a switching box. In the early 80’s I was techno before techno came along, trance before trance came along, new age before new age came along and I fit into the mainstream of ambient and synth pop at the time”.
