Starbust

Rick Hauser aka “Ricky Starbuster” in 1983 got the award for best “Debut of the Year” on Electronic Musician Magazine, with this motivation: “Compared to Michael Garrison (whom we consider one of the main American synthesizer composers), you will find Starbuster’s work less cosmic, less contemplative and more fun”.

On this album the artist plays: Prophet 5, Pro 1, Korg VC-10 Vocoder, Roland TR-606 Drumatix. The tracks “Buy It” and “Polka Dot Lady” contain the voice of Anna Fleer, 6 years old at the time, who had never heard that music and improvised lyrics that were recorded and preserved as first takes.
